Short Description
The State of New Jersey’s Department of Health (NJDOH) is seeking a SQLServer DBA/Developer to develop software and complete tasks as part of an Agile SCRUM team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of developing databases in Microsoft SQL Server 2017 or above.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 8+ years of installing, configuring and managing new SQL Servers and databases (SQL 2017 or above)
- 8+ years of managing multi DB environment setup (including production)
- 8+ years of ensuring that all database servers are backed up and recovery is time tested to meet business’s Recovery Point Objectives
- 8+ years of failover clustering, replication and other high availability technology
- 8+ years of troubleshooting SQL Server service outages as they occur
- 8+ years of monitoring system health and performance
- 8+ years of working with developers to review scripts and support frequent DB deployment activities
- 8+ years of assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement
- 8+ years of refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues and documenting changes
- 8+ years of writing Transact SQL (T-SQL) Queries, dynamic queries, indexes, constraints, views and functions
- 8+ years of writing new and understanding, reviewing and fine-tuning existing Stored Procedures
- 8+ years of Azure SQL databases and Azure portal features
- 8+ years of Microsoft Excel, data validations, data cleaning, manipulation, reporting and pivot features
- 1+ years of XML and JSON data structures
Desired Skills/Years of Experience:
- 5+ years of using Red Gate SQL Tool Belt

The State of New Jersey’s Department of Health (NJDOH) is seeking a SQLServer DBA/Developer to develop software and complete tasks as part of an Agile SCRUM team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of developing databases in Microsoft SQL Server 2017 or above.
The SQLServer DBA/Developer will be tasked to:
- Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
- Collaborate with Front-end developers
- Define and communicate technical and design requirements
- Provide training, help and support to other team members
- Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future
- Develop functional and sustainable web applications with clean code
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Learn about new technologies
- Stay up to date with current best practices
- Conduct tests and optimize performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve applications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and system administrators
