Short Description
The District of Columbia’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) is seeking a Senior ReactJS Developer to design, develop, and test, using ReactJS technologies to facilitate application development and implementation throughout development, QA, and production in support of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The ideal candidate must possess 16+ years of experience translating Wireframes and designs for development, conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty, and preparing complex technical documentation.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- 16+ years of experience translating Wireframes and designs for development
- 16+ years of experience conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty
- 16+ years of experience preparing complex technical documentation
- 11+ years of experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular 2.0, React.js, and Bootstrap

The District of Columbia’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) is seeking a Senior ReactJS Developer to design, develop, and test, using ReactJS technologies to facilitate application development and implementation throughout development, QA, and production in support of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The ideal candidate must possess 16+ years of experience translating Wireframes and designs for development, conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty, and preparing complex technical documentation.
The Senior ReactJS Developer will be tasked to:
- Gain an understanding of the current system infrastructure, security needs, network considerations, and methodologies
- Integrate designs and wireframes within the application code
- Write application interface code with JavaScript
- Translate wireframes and designs into quality codes
- Optimize components to work seamlessly across different browsers and devices
- Develop a responsive web-based UI and support the ecosystem for the organization
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of JavaScript, object models, DOM manipulation and event handlers, data structures, algorithms, JSX, Babel, architectural styles/API’s (REST/RPC), and Agile methodologies for the development of application programs
- Write clean, scalable code using ReactJS programming languages
- Develop documentation throughout the lifecycle of the development process
- Ensure that the technologies are updated with current, stable, and compliant architecture and applications that meet enterprise standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
- Develop, test and deploy applications and systems
- Revise, update, refactor and debug codes
- Proactively monitor and report performance utilization of assigned technologies
- Troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues/failures
- Manage problems, escalated tickets/tasks, and out of cycle requests from systems/software owners
- Determine the best course of action for meeting business needs and provide consultative expertise to customers on how to best use systems
- Proactively monitor and identify broader, more complex issues across multiple, integrated, connecting technologies
- Provide technical knowledge and support to District agencies, personnel, and additional stakeholders
- Coordinate activities of application developers
- Identify best practices and standards for the use of the product
- Deliver support and design for industry specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applications
- Interact with executive level business users or technical experts
- Act as a niche technical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Identify improvements to project standards to achieve high quality services/products
- Confer with other business and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of computer processing and project design
- Work with necessary personnel to determine if modifications are necessary
- Leverage excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop new business processes and programming solutions as directed by business and technical stakeholders
- Provide hands-on technical design and code work within large complex systems
- Integrate a variety of diverse technical environments and cross-platform technologies
- Interact with executive level business users or technical experts
- Performs other related duties as assigned
