Short Description
The District of Columbia’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) is seeking a Senior IT Technical Data Analyst to analyze processes and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of SQL queries and data conversion from legacy Oracle to SQL Server as well as 5+ years of data security requirement and data production go-live planning and execution.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- 11+ years of business process re-engineering experience
- 11+ years of scripting/data analysis languages (R, Python, Perl, Javascript, etc.)
- 11+ years of data extraction/transfer, data mapping, and data cleansing/data quality
Desired Skills/Years of Experience:
- 7+ years of SQL queries
- 7+ years of data conversion from legacy Oracle to SQL Server
- 5+ years of data security requirements
- 5+ years of data production go-live planning and execution
- 2+ years of Human Services, Child Services, or K-12 Education
Complete Description
The District of Columbia’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) is seeking a Senior IT Technical Data Analyst to analyze processes and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of SQL queries and data conversion from legacy Oracle to SQL Server as well as 5+ years of data security requirement and data production go-live planning and execution.
The Senior IT Technical Data Analyst will be tasked to:
- Analyze processes and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment
- Support the development of an ideal target data model for new CCWIS and work with the vendor to implement actual data model
- Evaluate and document the current state of data quality
- Come up with and track data quality improvement actions
- Manage data quality activities and maintain the CFSA Data Quality Plan
- Maintain data inventories and when possible reduce data capture and maintenance systems
- Develop agendas and schedule meetings
- Develop action items for the Data Quality Committee and its subcommittees
- Conduct data quality analysis and develop recommendations for the committees
- Develop a documentation framework (using online capabilities such as SharePoint, Wiki, other tools) to continuously capture and update data quality standards, exception report processing, data, and domain definitions
- Develop and maintain the report catalogue
- Work with a system integrator vendor to support the data conversion effort
- Develop data conversion quality control and quality assurance processes
- Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted business systems teams
- Recommend and facilitate quality improvement efforts
