Short Description
The District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is seeking a Senior IT Business Process Analyst with Data Analyst experience to provide business process analysis and evaluation, systems analysis, requirement gathering, testing, documentation, and stakeholder management and communications. The ideal candidate will have 11+ years of business analysis and/or business architecture and 1+ years of previous DC OSSE experience.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- 11+ years of business analysis/architecture experience
- 11+ years of business process analysis and the ability to implement change
- 11+ years of developing strategies and processes to improve overall business workflow
- 11+ years of documenting business process, requirements, and test scripts
- 11+ years of developing System Requirements Specification (SRS)
- 11+ years of Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to articulate technical terms and complex data clearly to non-technical audience both verbally and in writing
- 8+ years of software development lifecycle experience
- 8+ years of requirements gathering and documentation
- 8+ years of MS Office and MS Project (or other project management software)

The District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is seeking a Senior IT Business Process Analyst with Data Analyst experience to provide business process analysis and evaluation, systems analysis, requirement gathering, testing, documentation, and stakeholder management and communications. The ideal candidate will have 11+ years of business analysis and/or business architecture and 1+ years of previous DC OSSE experience.
OSSE is seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Process Analyst. The Senior IT Business Process Analyst must have experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business processes, systems and user needs, including documenting process flows, requirements, supporting the development of systems to align with business process re-engineering, and providing consultation on complex projects as a top level contributor. The SBA must have a technology background and experience with re-engineering complex business processes, designing and documenting processes in close consultation with business users and technology teams, and the ability to contribute to the solution architecture.
The Senior IT Business Process Analyst will work as part of a team responsible for the data modernization initiative.
The Senior IT Business Process Analyst will be tasked to:
- Document the As-Is business processes and process flows
- Document the transition business processes and process flows
- Develop formal documentation for the To-be business processes, process flows, and requirements in consultation with business users and technology teams
- Document the existing data sources/elements
- Map data elements with data standards by working closely with the OSSE Data Architect
- Support the Development Team with the review and testing of use cases
- Become a SME (Subject Matter Expert)
