Short Description
The State of New Jersey’s Office of Information Technology (NJOIT) under the Judiciary is seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to design, develop, test, and deliver web experiences for people in need of information and services from the NJ government. The ideal candidate will possess 8+ years of Drupal site administration and configuration, 8+ years of Drupal 8/9 ecosystem components, 8+ years of Drupal architecture, and 8+ years of Drupal user interface development experience.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- 8+ years of experience with Drupal site building, administration, custom module development, configuration management/features and theming
- 8+ years of experience working with the Drupal 8 and 9 ecosystem components (Git, Composer, TWIG, Site Building and Module development)
- 8+ years of experience with Drupal architecture and strategy generation for site maintenance and development
- 8+ years of experience with Drupal user interface development including: (user experience, theme development, and customization of community themes)
- 8+ years of experience coding and debugging in PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery
- 8+ years of experience working in an iterative development environment (Jira, GitHub Projects, Agile, SCRUM)
- 6+ years of experience with configuration management toolsets
- 6+ years of experience with advanced PHP development frameworks and workflows (Symfony, Composer)
Desired Skills/Years of Experience:
- Acquia Drupal Developer Certification
- 5+ years of experience with Acquia tools and solutions (Cloud IDE, Acquia Pipelines, BLT, DDEV, Acquia Cloud)

The State of New Jersey’s Office of Information Technology (NJOIT) under the Judiciary is seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to design, develop, test, and deliver web experiences for people in need of information and services from the NJ government. The ideal candidate will possess 8+ years of Drupal site administration and configuration, 8+ years of Drupal 8/9 ecosystem components, 8+ years of Drupal architecture, and 8+ years of Drupal user interface development experience.
The Senior Drupal Developer will be tasked to:
- Ensure that the Judiciary website and intranet use the latest and most effective modules for managing large amounts of data and documents
- Provide technical leadership and improve the quality of Drupal development on assigned projects
- Perform code reviews, recommend enhancements, mentor, and advise other team members on best practices for Drupal development
- Display superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve
- Collaborate with team members and partners
- Adapt to and manage shifting priorities
- Evaluate existing systems and/or new user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement information system changes
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision
- Define system and application architecture
- Provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving for the organization
- Consult with client to define needs or problems, conduct research, perform studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyze problems to advise on or recommend solutions
- Lead and direct the work of others

- Provide measurable intellectual capital in developing solutions and solving problems
- Develop architectural components to functional, technical and industry standards
- Coordinate work with other IT professionals on system development teams

- Display proficiency in more than one IT architectural discipline defined as information technology, computer programming, computer security, computer systems analysis, database management, information systems, internet applications and development, software development, and related fields

- Mentor and coach peers and subordinates
