Short Description
The State of New Jersey’s Judiciary Information Technology Office (NJITO) is seeking a J2EE WebSphere Architect to evaluate the existing system and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend and implement information system changes. The ideal candidate must have 9+ years of experience in IT, 9+ years of using Java SE and EE, and 9+ years of using Servlets, EJB, JDBC, JPA, JSF, JSP, JNDI, JAX-WS, JAX-RS, JAX-B.
* This is a hands-on senior role with coding responsibilities.

The State of New Jersey’s Judiciary Information Technology Office (NJITO) is seeking a J2EE WebSphere Architect to evaluate the existing system and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend and implement information system changes. The ideal candidate must have 9+ years of experience in IT, 9+ years of using Java SE and EE, and 9+ years of using Servlets, EJB, JDBC, JPA, JSF, JSP, JNDI, JAX-WS, JAX-RS, JAX-B.
The J2EE WebSphere Architect will be tasked to:
- Evaluate the existing system and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend and implement information system changes
- Work with the Enterprise and Architecture team
- Act as a go-to expert
- Be responsible for defining and documenting coding best practices and provide governance during the design, development, testing, and implementation phases of multiple concurrent application development life cycles
- Perform code reviews to ensure that all best practices and UI/UX standards are followed
- Assist all applications teams on upgrade, troubleshoot, and trace problems across multiple platforms and technologies and determine the best way to resolve them
- Work on enterprise components
- Research and provide solutions to issues related to upgrade and compatibility issues and implement resolutions (WAS 9, JAVA, JSF, STRUTS, iBATIS, Hibertnate Log4J, JAVA 8)
- Assist with implementing and troubleshooting environment integration (AD, ADLDS, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth, and token and certificate exchange)
- Demonstrate familiarity with a variety of architecture concepts, methodologies, practices, and procedures
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision
- Define system and application architecture and provide vision
- Anticipate problems and address gaps
- Consult with the client to define needs or problems
- Conduct research and perform studies and surveys to obtain data and analyze problems
- Advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or technology of a specific discipline or field
- Work closely with other senior consultants and developers
- Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and latitude

- Provide strategic consultation direction to management
- Develop architectural components to functional, technical, and industry standards
