Short Description
The District of Columbia’s Department of Employment Services (DOES) is seeking a Data Migration Architect to manage the conversion activities from a legacy system (VSAM and SQL) to a new cloud-based solution using SQL. The ideal candidate will have 16+ years of experience with service-oriented architectures and integrating applications and systems.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- 16+ years of aligning IT strategy and planning with company's business goals
- 16+ years of experience with service-oriented architectures and application integrations
- 16+ years of overall IT experience
- 13+ years of architecting, designing, and building relational and dimensional data models
- 12+ years of documenting business process, requirements, and test scripts
- 12+ years of delivering detailed design on enhancements to data architecture
- 8+ years of experience with tools that collect, track, secure, and display data
- 8+ years of meeting strategic and tactical goals with strong project management skills
- 8+ years of SQL and related programming languages (PL/SQL, T-SQL, etc.)
- 8+ years of designing conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
- 5+ years of experience with SQL server, data warehouses, and statistical data presentation
- 5+ years of excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills

The District of Columbia’s Department of Employment Services (DOES) is seeking a Data Migration Architect to manage the conversion activities from a legacy system (VSAM and SQL) to a new cloud-based solution using SQL. The ideal candidate will have 16+ years of experience with service-oriented architectures and integrating applications and systems.
The IT Project Coordinator / Business Analyst will be tasked to:
- Assist the Senior Project Manager
- Schedule and track activities
- Organize and maintain project libraries
- Manage subprojects and related activities
- Provide business requirements expertise to the project
- Work with technical and program resources
- Monitor the progress of delivering system requirements
- Evaluate the quality of deliverables against business requirements
- Assess the quality of use cases, test cases, and system requirements
- Ensure quality of software development, documentation, system testing, and product implementation
- Formulate and define system scope and objectives
- Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and translate into proper system requirements specifications
- Partner with stakeholders and users
- Provide consultation on complex projects as a specialist in system analysis
- Consider the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment
- Integrate systems with various internal and external systems
