Short Description
The State of New Jersey’s Department of Health (NJDOH) is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist to support end users both in the office and remotely as a break/fix desktop support representative. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience providing hands-on/physical deskside PC/laptop/tablet support, supporting/troubleshooting PC's running Windows 10, and troubleshooting Dell PC hardware issues.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience providing hands-on/physical deskside PC/laptop/tablet support
- 5+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting PC's running Windows 10
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting Dell PC hardware issues
- 5+ years of experience supporting troubleshooting PC peripheral devices
- 5+ years of experience with the most recent version of the Microsoft Office Suite
- 5+ years of experience imaging computers and physically setting up computers/monitors such as SCCM
- 5+ years of experience using remote assistance tools (Quick Assist or GoToAssit)
- 5+ years of experience using and supporting Office365 (Teams, Email, OneDrive, SharePoint)
- 5+ years of experience using user friendly customer service skills
Desired Skills/Years of Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with hard drive encryption tools such as Bitlocker
- 5+ years of experience with Absolute Computrace
- 3+ years of experience supporting Office365 including cloud apps (OneDrive and Sharepoint)
- 3+ years of experience supporting Windows 10 in an enterprise environment
- 3+ years of experience with user management in Active Directory (unlock accounts, reset passwords, etc.)
- 3+ years experience with PC imaging tools and practices
Complete Description
The State of New Jersey’s Department of Health (NJDOH) is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist to support end users both in the office and remotely as a break/fix desktop support representative. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience providing hands-on/physical deskside PC/laptop/tablet support, supporting/troubleshooting PC's running Windows 10, and troubleshooting Dell PC hardware issues.
The IT Help Desk Specialist will be tasked to:
- Act as a break/fix desktop support representative
- Support end users both in the office and remotely
- Answer inquiries, resolve computer/network/application/Internet connection issues via phone, e-mail, and remote connection or in person
- Walk users through the problem-solving process
- Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention to the IT manager for CDS
- Receive Dell PC deliveries from the central warehouse, unloading pallets and storing PC’s securely per policy
- Imaging new PC’s, upgrade PC’s, and deploy PC’s
- Install customized software, ensuring PC’s have the proper security and update patches
- Prepare PC’s for surplus according to department standards and protocols
