Short Description
The District of Columbia’s Department of Employment Services (DOES) is seeking a hands-on IT Enterprise Architect to drive technical projects aimed at process improvement that provide bottom-line performance gains. The ideal candidate will have 16+ years of developing requirements and architectures for deployed systems, 16+ years of relational databases and SQL experience, 16+ years in software development, and 5+ years in architecture of software systems.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- 16+ years of experience developing software
- 16+ years of experience working with relational databases and SQL
- 16+ years of experience developing requirements and architectures for deployed systems
- 12+ years of experience with solution architecture and design
- 11+ years of experience working with software development lifecycle
- 11+ years of experience with MS Office/PowerPoint/ Visio
- 10+ years of experience with C#, JavaScript, AJAX and MVC
- 10+ years of experience with .NET Framework (1.1 to Core 5x)
- 8+ years of experience designing microservices and APIs
- 8+ years of experience coding and using programming languages
- 8+ years of experience designing patterns and architectural styles
- 8+ years of experience developing software processes and working with corresponding technologies
- 8+ years of experience with front-end and back-end development and an expertise in front-end technologies
- 8+ years of experience with large-scale distributed applications (traditional client/server, Service Oriented Architectures, Microservice Architectures, etc.)
- 8+ years of experience with DevOps tools: (Docker, Git, GitLab, GitHub, Continuous Integration or Deliver)
- 8+ years of experience with web application using C#, VB.Net, .Net Core, Angular, and SQL Server
- 8+ years of experience with bi-directional traceability between source requirements and product or sub-product requirements
- 8+ years of experience with .Net Entity Framework
- 8+ years of experience with Asp.net Web API
- 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure
- 7+ years of experience designing mobile applications and using web technologies
- 7+ years of experience with SQL, SQLDB design and development including Stored Procedures
- 6+ years of experience leading teams in a management/lead architect position
- 5+ years of experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), REST, and/or AWS or other cloud IAAS providers

Complete Description
The District of Columbia’s Department of Employment Services (DOES) is seeking a hands-on IT Enterprise Architect to drive technical projects aimed at process improvement that provide bottom-line performance gains. The ideal candidate will have 16+ years of developing requirements and architectures for deployed systems, 16+ years of relational databases and SQL experience, 16+ years in software development, and 5+ years in architecture of software systems.
The Hands-On IT Enterprise Architect will be tasked to:
- Develop software to migrate data from a legacy system and transform the data to support loading into a new .net SQL system by an outside vendor
- Support the release management and process refinements for in-house and vendor-created systems
- Partner with multiple internal and external teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions
- Review and interpret functional specifications, design, code, and test systems solutions based on its requirements
- Maintain system documentation (both within the code and within technical design documents) to enable ease of analysis for future development
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of information solutions to address business opportunities
- Participate in application and database design using various modeling tools and documentation methods
- Develop web-based applications using Microsoft development technologies and a variety of database platforms
- Analyze system issues and design, code and test system solutions which will resolve the issue
