Short Description
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of State (DOS) is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to provide high level desktop and end user support for their agency, which consists of approximately 200 users. The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow or understanding an asset management system, 3+ years of experience with Windows OS and O365 Office products, and 3+ years of experience with excellent customer service awareness and communication skills.

- 3+ years of knowledge of imaging workstations using MDT and/or SCCM

- 3+ years of knowledge of VPN setup, support, and install
- 3+ years of experience resolving technical issues with users over the phone

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of State (DOS) is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to provide high level desktop and end user support for their agency, which consists of approximately 200 users. The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow or understanding an asset management system, 3+ years of experience with Windows OS and O365 Office products, and 3+ years of experience with excellent customer service awareness and communication skills.
The Desktop Support Specialist will be tasked to:
- Provide high level desktop and end user support for the Department of State, which consists of approximately 200 users
- Support the daily operation of several bureaus within the DOS (Bureaus of Elections and Notaries, Bureaus Campaign finance and Civic Engagements, Bureaus of Elections Security and Technology, Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations, Charities Investigation Unit, Executive staff, and Administration)
- Provide critical delivery center desktop support for DOS operations (primary and general election desktop support, petition filing setup and support, SURE, SUREVR, SWORD, Notaries App, and many other public service enabling utilities) by assuring desktop configuration, connectivity, and user access is operational
- Act independently and work in team environments
- Demonstrate a highly advanced proficiency and competence in a variety of IT platforms and technologies
- Troubleshoot the Windows and Mac operating systems, COTS applications, and numerous in-house developed applications
- Resolve VPN connectivity issues and VDI connectivity issues
- Perform software removal and installation
- Perform hardware replacements/distributions and printer setups
- Troubleshoot basic networking issues
- Image desktops/laptops
- Work with vendors to coordinate onsite repairs
- Resolve 80-90% of the incident tickets assigned
- Demonstrate knowledge of Active Directory use and privileges
- Demonstrate knowledge of wireless workstation setup and support
- Think and act under pressure
- Demonstrate good organizational skills
- Demonstrate excellent etiquette and professionalism
