Short Description
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking an Azure Cloud Security Engineer to partner with cross-functional teams across the agency to prevent, assess and remediate security risks, ensure compliance with industry standards, and create solutions that solve or remediate security challenges. The ideal candidate must possess 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity in covering data, systems, and public cloud environments.
* Note: This position may require occasional travel to the on-site location in Harrisburg, PA.
Required Skills/Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity in covering data, systems, and public cloud environments
- 3+ years of experience with Azure security architecture and/or engineering
- 3+ years of experience with OCI security architecture and/or engineering
Desired Skills/Years of Experience:
- Azure Administrator Certification
- Azure Security Engineer Certificate
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Security Associate Certification
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
Complete Description
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking an Azure Cloud Security Engineer to partner with cross-functional teams across the agency to prevent, assess and remediate security risks, ensure compliance with industry standards, and create solutions that solve or remediate security challenges. The ideal candidate must possess 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity in covering data, systems, and public cloud environments.
The Azure Cloud Security Engineer will be tasked to:
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the agency to prevent, assess and remediate security risks, ensure compliance with industry standards, and create solutions that solve or remediate security challenges
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of security practices of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure (Azure) public cloud offerings
- Advise peers and IT managers to help influence and drive compliance in the form of risk remediation, data classification, regulatory obligations, and other security goals
- Demonstrate understanding of core security principles and security best practices
- Review current systems and processes
- Implement security controls and governance via automation and scripting, using repeatable, programmatic design
- Identify and learn new services, tools, and scripting languages to help automate, monitor, and manage security operations on OCI and Azure
- Provide assessment, development, implementation, optimization, integration, and documentation of security technologies and processes (Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Management, and Web Application Firewalls (WAF))
- Lead and participate in security incident responses and the development and documentation of response procedures
- Demonstrate understanding of the Azure and OCI shared security responsibility model and how it applies to security design
- Identify and classify data stores and implement data protection mechanisms
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of OCI/Azure security services and features of services to provide a secure production environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, server/network administrators, and subject matter experts
- Utilize knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance requirements
- Make tradeoff decisions with regard to cost, security, and deployment complexity given a set of application requirements
